Summary: This presentation will provide a state-of-art, transdisciplinary team approach to the assessment and treatment of children with sensory processing, motor and learning disabilities. Theoretical models will be explored that can guide the neurodevelopmental interpretation of assessment data, highlight the relationships between sensory processing, motor deficits and learning disabilities and can be incorporated into treatment methods. Functional outcomes from this approach will be presented via pediatric and young adult case studies.

Presenter: Dr. Conway has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology from the University of Florida. His research background includes clinical research in the areas of dyslexia, learning disabilities, aphasia, and apraxia of speech. He is the Director of The Morris Center clinics in Gainesville and Ocala, Florida, which provide research and evidence-based, transdisciplinary assessments and treatments of language, learning, motor, sensory, mood, anxiety and behavior difficulties.
Dr. Croom-Atkins graduated from the University of Florida (BHS in Occupational Therapy) and Nova SouthEastern University (Doctorate in Occupational Therapy). She worked for 17 years as an OT in various school districts in Florida. She is currently at The Morris Center in Ocala, Florida, a transdisciplinary team providing research-based and evidenced-based assessment and treatment services for children and adults - treating or preventing sensory, motor and learning disabilities.
